Join us for the launch of the second installment of our BioIncubate program - discover what events await us this year, details on the startup track, and listen to exciting talks by our key speakers: Patrick Amstutz, PhD - co-founder and CEO of Molecular Partners, and Julia Wagner, PhD, and Til Schlotter, PhD - co-founders of our last year winner - UNOMR, in Zurich (Basel speakers TBA). Following this is the apéro, where you can meet new friends, teammates, or even potential co-founders!

Already have an idea and team, or at least the ambition and determination to join the biotech startup scene? Whether it be diagnostic tools, state of the art therapies, or computation solutions with the help of AI, all are welcome to sign up for our biotech startup incubator program: teams in the two categories - embryo (name pending) and mature startups compete for proof-of-concept development funding, a thoroughly equipped lab space, a valuable network of experts and advisors, and of course a cash prize of 5,000 CHF for the early-stage, and a 25,000-35,000 CHF grant for the late-stage startup winner.

Advisors Speaking:

Patrick Amstutz, PhD (Zurich)

A graduate of ETH Zurich and the University of Zurich, Patric Amstutz is a co-founder and since 2016 CEO of Molecular Partners AG - a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company based in Zurich. The company is working on developing therapies centered on DARPins (designed ankyrin repeat proteins) - a research focus of Patrick Amstutz since 2004, with two DARPin molecules already in phase 1 clinical development.

Julia Wagner, PhD, Til Schlotter, PhD and Julian Hengsteler (Zurich)

Last year Julia Wagner, Til Schlotter and Julian Hengsteler joined us at the Bioincubate start-up track programme for 2023, and managed to win first place with their start-up UNOMR! With background in mathematics and mechanical engineering, they are working on hardware and software to combat the difficulties in proteomics by providing an unprecedented in-depth analytical solutions.

Natasa Cmiljanovic, PhD (Basel)

Founder of the Swiss incubator and accelerator Swiss rockets, as well as chief operating officer at its biotech subsidiaries RocketVax and Torqur,  Dr. Natasa Cmiljanovic is a medicinal chemist with over a decade of experience in the field of oncology drug discovery and development. With a rich portfolio ranging from drug discovery, preclinical development and clinical research to building, and then evaluating and supporting startups, her expertise will prove very valuable to the new generation of entrepreneurs.

Anne Ulvestad, MSc MBA (Basel)

Anne Ulvestad is the founder and current executive director of INNOSIAMO, a boutique strategy consultancy aimed at young healthcare businesses. She also has over 25 years of experience in the life sciences, having worked at the Friedrich Miescher Institute for Biomedical Research, in lead positions in Novartis, Arctic Pharma and Neuropathy Companion, with a wealth of expertise in project management and operations in developing medicines and diagnostic solutions.
