Our Lab
Welcome to our lab! We offer state of the art equipment in our lab located on Hönggerberg, Zurich in exchange of your motivation and engagement.
Lab Access
The Student Biolab has limited access to a shared BSL1 lab space in ETH Hönggerberg for the BioIncubate program.
We are also partnering with certain professors who may allow access to their lab space, depending on the requirements of the teams.
Terms of access to the ETH Hönggerberg lab:
Teams will only be able to work in this lab when the lab manager (also the biosafety officer) is on-site. Teams are guaranteed a minimum of 5 hours unsupervised lab access per week and approximately 1-2 hours of supervised lab access from the lab manager (for intros to equipment, etc.). Depending on the week, there may be more time available for work in the lab (up to 15+hours per team). Teams are therefore expected to be organized and plan their experiments in enough time to inform the lab manager of when they need lab access.
To access the lab, all members of the teams entered into the program must attend an onboarding session and biosafety introduction. A provisional time for this has been set for 14th November, 15:00 – 17:00.
Available equipment
Please note that there is the possibility of using other equipment, in neighbouring labs, by negotiation with the lab manager and the relevant professors. Teams also have access to core facilities, such as SCOPEM and the functional genomics centre:
