Selection Event | November 9th, 2023
12 student teams pitched, competing for entry into the BioIncubate Forge and Startup Tracks.
The Selection Event was the culmination of the Ideate Phase of BioIncubate. 12 teams of student applicants were invited to pitch at the event: 6 teams for the Forge Track and 6 teams for the Startup Track. Over 120 attendees filled the Kunsthaus Ballroom to watch the pitches, with member from Lonza judging the Forge Track and members of VC, academic and founders judging the Startup Track. Ultimately, 2 teams were selected into the Forge Track and 2 teams into the Startup Track.

Applicant teams developed their solutions with expert feedback
Over 10 academic and industry advisors were available to meet with applicants to bioincubate. They discussed, stress-tested, and commented on the participants' ideas to apply to either the Forge Track or Startup Track.
Countdown Event | September 27th, 2023
The countdown clock began for the Bioincubate proposal deadline with three exciting Keynote Talks.
We marked our calendars for the countdown event that featured three captivating keynote talks in the field of biotechnology. We were delighted to hear the Head of R&D Biologics at LONZA presenting an enlightening talk on innovation in biomanufacturing. Additionally, we had the privilege of hosting two entrepreneurial founders who shared their insights. The first keynote speaker was the Cofounder and CSO of Versantis, an ETH spin-off, while the second speaker was the Cofounder and CEO of EraCal Therapeutics, a spin-off from UZH and Harvard. During the event, we also provided comprehensive information about the BioIncubate program, including the expectations for prospective applicants. To coonclude the event we had a Sprüngli apero where attendees could network and further engage with like-minded individuals passionate about the biotech industry.
Mixer Event | September 2nd, 2023
SpeedDating and Networking Event for teams to form and apply to Bioincubate
BioIncubate’s Mixer event was hosted to foster idea creation and help participants meet future team mates for BioIncubate. The event featured a series of quick-fire exercises in groups of randomly assigned teams, alongside a ‘speed-dating’ style format where members could meet like-minded people and discuss your thoughts on innovation, biotech and the BioIncubate challenge.
